These fun, smiley and giggly souls celebrated their 3 year anniversary and asked me to document their season. Some of you know that Sam and I share an office together, and she's also an incredible wedding photographer! We've hit it off since day one, and when it came time to move into an office together, it was a no-brainer.

Sam and Stephen said that they would love to get photos taken for their anniversary and that they've done it every year to mark and celebrate it. She says "I want to be able to capture the different seasons we're in every year of our marriage and be able to look back on them down the road." Which I thought was super special.

I rarely photograph in urban settings, like 15% of my clients are people who get married in a completely urban setting, and Sam and Stephen live in the Inner West of Sydney, and they love it, so we thought it would really reflect them if we just walked around the Inner West, drank coffee and took some photos.

I love it when other people trust me and want to give me creative freedom to do what I do, and even give me permission to do something that I want to do. I told Sam I really wanted to shoot completely in B&W because I haven't done one before, and Sam immediately said, "let's do it!"

To preface, I shot in B&W mode on my camera, as well, so saw no colour showing in my previews or my live view screen. I put my computer screen to greyscale as I was culling and then applied my B&W preset as I was importing them into my Lightroom catalogue. So, I've NEVER seen any of these photos in colour. Ain't that crazy? I had a tonne of fun and I hope you guys enjoy the photos!
